Just wondering what everyone’s plans are to mark these two events.
Bore da/Good morning. I’m arranging a concert on VE Day - I arranged a D Day concert last June and it was a really great event. We had school children singing, playing instruments, soloists, duets, trios, choirs, Town brass bands, armed forces cadets doing readings - all songs/music from the war time - ending with everyone singing ‘We’ll meet again’! It was quite emotional actually. It was a free concert, so accessible to all and we had a collection towards armed forces charities. So I’m planning a very similar event on the 8th May 2025. Hi Emara - in North East Lincolnshire we will be holding a Civic Service to mark VE80, hosted by the Mayor’s Chaplain in his Church. It will be a public service and Standards and military representation will be there.
