Our deputy Mayor is currently chair of a local charity. If this councillor becomes Mayor, can he/she choose this charity to support during the Mayoral year?

Thank you. I have checked with the monitoring officer who has confirmed it is ok as long as the Mayor does not receive a salary from the charity.
