Hello, each year we have an official Mayor’s Portrait that goes up in the Parlour and also on his/her leaflet etc.
This year, one of the other Councillors has requested a copy of the incoming mayor’s picture so that she is able to give her a gift at Mayor Making? Does anyone know if there’s any protocol with this - sharing the portrait? And sharing it ahead of the mayoral year?
Hiya,
I’m not aware of any protocol (at Salford anyway) that states it couldn’t be shared.
Perhaps if you just stress that the Councillor cannot send on to anyone else / share on social media etc and mustn’t share the image of the gift with anyone else until it is given after Mayor Making.
Hi - no protocols in Hartlepool, and that is such a nice gesture from a fellow councillor. At the end of each municipal year we pull together photos from the Mayor and put them in a photobook, this is very well received. Last year we used PhotoBox and was great VFNM.
