Period of Mourning

Hi,

King Charles announced that the period of mourning would be extended for 7 days after the funeral but i am unclear if that extends to books of condolence etc,

My understanding is that the additional seven days is for the Royal Family - not the nation, so not for condolence books.

Phil is spot-on. National mourning and Court mourning are separate. We observe national mourning from the day of death until the end of the day of the funeral. Flags return to full mast the morning after the funeral and our suggestion is that Condolence Books close later that day. For us, life returns to normal. The Court remains in mourning for another week but that is something observed quietly by the Royal Family and their Households behind the Palace walls.

Thanks all! Appreciated
