Is there any guidance on the wearing of civic regalia during the pre election period including the D D
commemorations?

Here is Shrewsbury we have cancelled all Mayoral activity during the pre-election period except for two events; one last Sunday which was the Mayor’s Sunday Service; and the other is the D-DAY 80th Anniversary Commemoration on 6th June where we will be holding a short event in the evening and lighting a Lamp of Peace. Our Deputy Mayor is the Parliamentary candidate for the Shrewsbury Liberal Democrats and the Mayor is also a Lib Dem Councillor, so we thought it appropriate not to have either of them attending invited events during the pre-election period.
